Report any finds using the JD Finds recording facility on the JD app as accurately as possible
The JD Finds recording app must only be used to record legitimate finds made by the finder of the said finds
Previously found finds can be recorded on the finds app, however, the finder must ensure that they have met all of their countries legal requirements for the finding of any such finds, for example, UK treasure finds must have been officially declared within 14 days as per the Treasure Act 1996
Parents or guardians of younger detectorists (under 17) may use the JD Finds app to record finds on their behalf using the parent or guardian account
The JD Finds app recording facility must not be used for advertising products for sale. Advertising can be utilised using our advertising campaigns facility. Please contact us directly for further information
Should any find(s) come under the Treasures Act 1996, then the finder must report the find(s) to the coroner within 14 days of the find(s) being found. This is a legal requirement
JD accepts no responsibility or liability, whatsoever, for finds which are not properly and legally declared
Any person using the JD Finds recording app who acts outside of the legal requirements will have their subscription cancelled and will not be permitted to use the app in the future. Any funds paid are non-refundable in this instance

The JD Finds app is a recording facility for detectorists, or the like, to record finds/items/objects they have discovered and is not a replacement for the PAS (Portable Antiquities Scheme) database
Any objects found in the UK by a person from outside of the UK that are of certain cultural definitions, so more than 50 years of age and valued above specified financial thresholds, must be declared to the Portable Antiquities Scheme Finds Liaison Office (FLO) and the object(s) will require an individual licence for export out of the UK whether on a permanent or temporary basis.
These licences are available from the arts council, JD organisers and PAS will help any members who need to acquire a licence.

Do I Need One? Yes, if you reside or live outside of the UK and find treasure in the UK, you will need an export licence.

Any finds made outside of the UK are classed as worldwide finds and must be recorded correctly as per the finder’s countries’ legal requirements. This is solely the legal requirement of the finder/discoverer/app user
